One of the main reasons that you should not be taking a phone with you is because you are going away to relax not to work or stare at a phonescreen, think of the people around you. They will all still be there when you get back, if you are that desperate just use a pay phone. It will be cheaper than making the payment by your own mobile phone.

Another reason is the risk of roaming charges you could get if you accidently go on the internet when you are away. The problem with many phones such as the iPhone is that if someone clicks the net by mistake they are going to be getting a very big bill indeed.

Although you could get gadget insurance for breakages abroad it will not cover you from the mistakes you can make from all of the browsing that can be done. As well as this you will find that a text is going to set you back a lot too so just be warned on that one.

One of the main things that you can learn from this is that taking the phone with you is just not worth all of the hassle. If you are going on holiday then make sure you look into car hire insurance because at least then if something happens you are covered.
