Kindle Accessory – Belkin Clip On Reading Light
The Belkin Clip-On Reading Light for Kindle is among the classics between all other eReader accessories for the Kindle. As it does not have a backlight, having a reliable external source of reading light is essential to get full pleasure in the Kindle. The Belkin Clip-On Reading Light gives off a powerful cozy light, which is available in two settings.
You can adjust the level of illumination according to how much is needed for comfortable reading. Even on the lowest settings, the three LED bulbs give off good illumination to read on the Kindle without being disturbing to anyone who is alongside you.
The Belkin Clip-On Reading Light’s minimalist and stylish design makes it a superb match for your Kindle. It may appear delicate but it offers serious performance. This product has a slim versatile head that can be adjusted to achieve the best glare-free reading. It is also designed to not interfere in any way with your reading pleasure.
The clip-on base of this product is wide enough to create a strong hold on the Kindle, making it easier for us to move it around and even lay down on your side whilst viewing. And as it is intelligently designed, the base does not get in the way with our view of the screen.
Another great function of the Belkin Clip-On Reading Light is its usage of three AAA batteries instead of the flat watch batteries you irritatingly find in many other products. It is much less of a challenge to find a triple A battery lying about the house than a watch battery. Plus, there are no inconvenient screws making battery changing an easier activity.
The batteries might give your Kindle further weight however with the benefits involving longer lighting lifespan and easier maintenance, it is a small price to pay. This particular eReader accessory also features a switch that can be nestled safely away when stored; it will prevent the light from accidentally turning on and will help save a lot on batteries.

Form A Queue If You’re A Kindle Killer
There are an incredible number of manufacturers currently fighting it out in the new, but ever expanding, e-book reader market. The high level of competition is a strong indication that rapid growth is anticipated in this sector. And this will be good news for consumers as manufacturers strive to enhance specifications and offer lower prices.
The list of major players who have e-book readers in various stages of development – and in some cases, ready for imminent release – is impressive. Plastic Logic, Barnes and Noble, Sony, Asus, iRex, – don’t forget Microsoft and Apple (as if) – are all lined up and jostling for their fair share of the market.
There can be little doubt about the market leader at the moment of course. The Kindle reader from Amazon has not only dominated the market, but has been driving and shaping its development since it hit the market in November 2007. Now into its second generation with the Kindle 2 and the large display Kindle DX, Amazon has a 60% share of the American e-book reader market. The Kindle reader is now their top selling product and, on October 19 this year Amazon commenced shipping the international Kindle 2 to over 100 countries around the world. It’s a backhanded compliment to Amazon that almost every new e-book reader in development (and there’s no shortage of these, the list above is far from exhaustive) which shows any potential whatsoever, is instantly christened the “Kindle Killer”. Currently, the Kindle sets the benchmark which must be attained, and then bettered, in order to achieve success.
If it appears as if the Kindle’s present leadership position is unassailable, then it’s probably worth considering that Amazon were a somewhat late entrant to the market when the Kindle was released. The original e-book reader is generally considered to be the Franklin eBookMan which launched in 1999 – ten years ago. The Sony PRS was also released before the Kindle’s launch in 2007.
The Kindle was such a phenomenal success for Amazon due to a number of different factors. First of all, Amazon had a strong association with books, being among the largest online retailers. They also offered a huge choice of books to download – at the moment they have in excess of 300,000 titles on their Kindle store. The option of wireless connectivity – with no ongoing fees – was another big selling point.
Just as Amazon came from nowhere to secure the number one position, one of the other contenders could do exactly the same – and in the short term. For example, Barnes and Noble have more than one million titles available for download to their new Nook e-book reader. They will also use the ePub format – which the majority of readers in development seem to be favoring. Kindle’s format is proprietary. Purchase a Kindle book – read it on your Kindle.
The Nook will also permit you to “lend” books to your friends and family for a fortnight. During this time, the borrower can read it and the lender will be unable access to it on their Nook – exactly the same as lending a “real” book. The big advantage is that, unlike a dog eared paperback, you can be sure that you will get it back.
Sony’s next generation reader – the Daily Edition – will have a large format display, just like Amazon’s Kindle DX – but unlike the DX it will have touch screen controls. It will also allow users to borrow e-books from participating public libraries on loan. Again – just like a conventional book.
Many of the other readers in the pipeline have features that could well make them more appealing than the Kindle. Amazon definitely have a fight looming – but it seems sure that they won’t surrender their number one position without a struggle. They have played a pivotal role in the development of the market up to now, and bearing in mind the critical importance of the Kindle to their current business model, it seems reasonable to expect them to have a few new tricks up their corporate sleeve.
Considering the high level of activity amongst all of these top manufacturers, it seems reasonable to predict that the e-book reader market is about to start growing even more rapidly. In all probability, the fierce competition that about to be unleashed will create a downward pressure on prices and take e-book readers out of the high tech domain and firmly into the mainstream personal mobile tech market.

Learning History at Home Schooling
Do you consider that passing time in traditional classrooms is a waste of time? For many people, that is probably true. For instance, a test is due and the pupils are told to memorize a lot of dates and names. However, after taking the exam, they will probably forget 90% of those dates and names. That’s what most students do every time they have tests. If you are one of these people, you will find traditional history lessons boring, so home schooling, which focuses more on the history of the world, will surely interest you more.
Simple memorization is not enough to know the importance of famous people and important events. Through home schooling in history, you can learn about the different cultures of the past in a different, but interesting way – your own way! Through the study of history, you will also understand the current situation of the world today.
However, if you consider that home schooling is the best method for your child’s education, you must also be prepared to take on certain responsibilities. As there will be no teacher present ‘on site’, you will have to supervise your child’s educational progress by yourself.
Let’s just suppose that your kid is interested in a particular sport. Through combining history and home schooling, you can start by just hanging a map on the wall of your child’s schoolroom and mark the location of his favourite sports team. Make sure that you track all the team’s activities and schedules. Then, you could go back to history lessons by reading biographies of the various athletes, who had been famous in the particular sport that your child likes. Apart from that, you could also examine the history of that particular sport and discover where it originated, its inventor, and the other things happening at that particular time in history.
For instance, if your child follows baseball, you could teach your child about the history of Negro Leagues, government hearings on the use of steroids, and other favourite hobbies at that time. Just remember that you can apply this concept to any interest like dances and inventions. You can also have conversations with your child concerning current events or read interesting historical works and other books. Aside from that, you could also watch documentaries together with the rest of the family. There are various resources that your child can use while home schooling, such as TV, maps, books, a globe, an atlas, and encyclopedias. Due of the exciting adventures that you and your child will read about and see on film, he/she will find it easier to remember the names and dates of the history lessons. After all, learning is best when it is done in an interesting way.
These methods are recommended if your child is still young, but once your child is older, you must choose an appropriate home schooling program that is suitable to his/her age group. The programs are available at the elementary, high school, and even college levels. You simply have to search the Internet for these various programs. A good thing about these programs is that you can tailor them to fit the requirements of your child. However, you must ensure that all the lessons are followed by your child.
Once you and your child have decided to give home schooling a shot, you will have to be ready to make some changes to your lifestyle. The learning will now take place in your home not at a remote school and through the various resources that you want to use, which should include a computer and the Internet.

Kindle 2 A Great Gift
Avid readers now have the perfect toy: Amazon’s Kindle 2 e-reader. TV shows, movies and Internet videos may be cutting dramatically into the sales of novels, newspapers and magazines, but the Kindle 2 is doing its part to make reading fun, and cool, again.
The Kindle 2 ranks as one of the most popular e-readers on the market. With it, users can download and store an incredible 1,500 electronic books. Then, much like with an iPod, Kindle 2 users can simply dial up the book, magazine, newspaper or blog that they’d like to read.
It’s incredibly simple, and it is revolutionizing the way people shop for and buy the printed word. Kindle 2 users can download just about any book they can think of from the Amazon Kindle Store. Bestsellers usually cost about $9.99. That’s pretty cheap for a newer book. Kindle 2 users can also download several books, including many classics, at not charge at all.
The Kindle 2 also boasts an impressively cool look and style. For one thing, the device is extremely thin and lightweight, small enough to fit in a coat pocket. It also features a miniature five-way joystick that is booth cool and makes rotating through the Kindle 2′s many menus an easy task.
Reading newspapers, books or magazines on the Kindle 2 is also a positive experience. The Kindle 2′s screen is clear enough to accommodate even those with weak eyesight. Amazon says that the e-reader’s screen boasts an impressive 16 different shades of gray, ideal for newspapers and magazines. This represents a significant improvement from the mere four shades of gray that Amazon’s original Kindle displayed.
Some Kindle 2 users have complained that pages – whether for books, magazines or newspapers — take too long to turn on the Kindle 2. However, this is a fairly minor complaint regarding a device that many call an engineering marvel. The Kindle 2′s pages turn 20 percent faster than did the pages on the first version, Amazon says.
The Kindle 2 is also a snap to charge. Users can plug the Kindle 2 to any vacant USB port on their computers. They can also connect the device, through the use of an adaptor that comes with the Kindle 2, into a standard wall outlet.
Amazon this summer will begin selling its much-anticipated Kindle DX, which will include several upgrades over the Kindle 2. But those who want an e-reader now shouldn’t feel the need to wait for the new version. The Kindle 2 boasts enough features to satisfy any reader.
Owning a Kindle 2 isn’t quite as fun as a trip to the local library or bookstore. But it comes a close second. And it’s the perfect gift for anyone who still loves novels, nonfiction and the printed word in general.
